Turner’s Martial Arts opened in 2001 and is now the oldest and largest Martial Arts School in the area. They offer a newly remodeled, 3,000 square foot facility that includes 2 training studios, pro shop, children’s play area with flat screen/DVD library for younger silblings, and a spacious lobby. Turner’s Martial Arts is a family owned, christian-based business run by Dr. and Master Joe Turner and his wife Gaylene, who are also long time Flower Mound residents. Gaylene says, “We truly have a love of martial arts and kids…our hope is to inspire kids to be the best that they can be.” |

The biggest misconception about martial arts is that it is a violent sport. Dr. and Master Joe Turner says, “Nothing could be further from the truth. We teach self discipline, confidence and goal setting skills for success in life. Our students learn in their very first class that their martial arts skills are to be used only to protect themselves.” All of the training at Turner’s, regardless of the program, is founded on the fundamental black belt principles of: honesty, integrity, humility, self-control and perserverance. |
