Debbie decided at that moment that no woman undergoing cancer treatment would be turned away from her business.  “I realized her medical circumstances were affecting her financially and practically and my company could have cleaned for her either free, or at cost, to help her out!”  She announced the new policy to her employees at the next staff meeting and has never looked back. 

In 2006, she shared her story at a national maid service convention, explaining how these women were the ones that need their services the most.  She was so overwhelmed by the response she received from other maid services and their willingness to jump onboard, that she went home and registered Cleaning For a Reason as a non-profit organization.   As soon as the word was out, maid services began signing up to participate and offer cleaning services to cancer patients at no charge.  Since 2006, through the Cleaning For a Reason Foundation, over 2,000 women have been helped with over 525 partner maid services.
