The Actors Conservatory Theatre - Children's Theatre in Lewisville | Flower MoundIn 1999, an arts loving Flower Mound resident took the initiative to create the Flower Mound Children’s Theatre.  With meager beginnings, the theatre began performing for Flower Mound audiences in an outdoor theatre and church before changing names to The Actors Conservatory Theatre and landing permanent space at the Crawford Center for the Arts (generously donated by local arts supporters, R.L. and Brenda Crawford).

Now into its thirteenth year, and the sixth year at the Crawford Center for the Arts, the non-profit theatre provides high quality children’s theatre in Lewisville, just a short drive from Flower Mound.

The Actors Conservatory Theatre Children's Theatre in Lewisville | Flower MoundThe mission at the ACT is simple:  fostering the education of great classic literature for the young and young at heart, right here in our own community through good, family-oriented theatre.

We love that every child who auditions will receive a role in the production. This allows every child that has an interest, to take part in the full production from learning about the author, how to act, sing and dance to stage production, lighting and props.  They see, and take part in, the entire theatrical process from beginning to end.

No experience is necessary and children as young as 3 can take part during the summer, while those as young as kindergarten can be included during the school year.

The Actors Conservatory Theatre is a non-profit, 501(c)3 volunteer driven, educational, community service organization that exists solely on the generosity of its patrons. Each production can cost over $6,000 and only 60% of that is raised at the box office, leaving the rest to come from foundations, organizations and donations from Flower Mound and Lewisville residents that benefit from this fabulous organization that our kids love so much.

Tickets Available online or 1/2 hour before the show

Gymnastics Flower Mound at Best Gymnastics

What does a state-of-the-art facility with Olympic gymnastics apparatus, 100 years of combined gymnastics experience and a sincere love for teaching children have in common? You will find it all at Best Gymnastics in Flower Mound. Owners, Cindy Perison and Brad Turner created Best Gymnastics for the simple fact that they love teaching children the great sport of gymnastics.

Brad says, “We understand and have seen firsthand the positive effects of gymnastics on children and teenagers as they become young adults. We not only experienced it as gymnasts ourselves, but have seen the outstanding positive attributes gymnastics created in our own children and in the children we have coached over the last 30 years.”

Best Gymnastics in Flower MoundWhether your child is interested in competitve or recreational gymnastics; a beginner or seasoned, you will never have to worry about their safety while they are at Best Gymnastics. Their staff has over 100 years of gymnastics experience as both athletes and coaches. They’ve coached gymnasts to over 50 individual and team state championship gymnastics titles and hold many certifications including:

  • Former National Gymnastics Safety Instructor
  • USA Gymnastics Safety Certification
  • USA Gymnastics Skill Evaluators
  • USA Gymnastics Professional Development
  • USA Gymnastics Kinder Accreditation
  • CPR/First Aid Course Completion.

Owner, Cindy Perison says, “Our goal is to provide the best and safest gymnastics to our students, unparalleled service to their parents, and to hire, train, and retain the best instructors for your child.”

Best Gymnastics in Flower MoundSo what can you and your child expect from classes at Best Gymnastics? They offer classes for children as young as 14 months (Best Little Tots) through high school (Best Kids, Boys, Girls, Tumbling and Team). Each child begins at level 1 (with a 6:1 student teacher ratio) and advances through the levels at his/her own pace. You are always aware of how they are doing because every week your child will receive a student record showing you the skills mastered that week in class. You can also check their progress online through the gym’s website at any time. Once they’ve mastered all the skills in that level, they are promoted to the next level.

They don’t teach other sports at this facility, they focus only on gymnastics. Their goal is for their students to learn great gymnastics, have fun, and to take advantage of all the benefits this great sport has to offer.

Flower Mound Birthday parties at Best GymnasticsBest Birthday parties are a blast! For $250, you will get a 1 1/2 hour party for up to 20 guests ($10 per each additional guest) at a choice of times on Saturdays or Sundays. Food is provided by the parents, but Best provides the party room, balloons, clean-up and FUN, while you relax and have fun with the birthday child!

Students are encouraged to attend Open Gym for extra skills training and fun play time with their friends and coaches. This is a drop-off event so Mom and Dad can get away for a nice dinner or movie while the kids play with us! The cost is just $12 per child and a snack is provided. Woo-Hoo, it’s a party for Mom and Dad!

Friday Afternoon Open Gym - 1:30pm-2:30pm for Best Members and non-members and is for ages 3 – 6 years. At Best Gymnastics all events are closely supervised by trained coaches at all times.

Here is what local residents are saying about Best Gymnastics:

“My daughter recently signed up for Best Gymnastics and she absolutely loves it! I think it is wonderful because not only does she have a lot of fun, but she learns a lot (and receives a grade card after ever class so I know exactly what skills she is learning as well)…It is comforting to know that safety comes first and that they really enjoy teaching and care that my child is enjoying learning while advancing her skills. There are a multitude of days and times available which made it very easy to fit into our schedule. Of all the other gyms and gymnastics/tumbling programs we have tried in the area, this one definitely surpasses them all in excellence!”
Teresa M., Flower Mound

“As a former gymnast and coach this is by far the best gym in the Lewisville / Flower Mound area! And I have checked out them all!”
Melissa N. from Lewisville

“They took my daughter from a mediocre level 4 to STATE OF TEXAS Level 6 Beam Champion in just 2 years. My daughter and her 2 teammates placed First, Second, and Third all-around at North State that year. My daughter has literally boxes full of medals, mostly gold and a few silvers while Cindy and Brad coached her up into a powerful Level 7 / Level 8 competitor. She has gold medals from around the country as well as all over Texas…”
Melanie M., Sachse

Easter Sunday Sunrise Service on The Mound.Attend Easter Sunday Sunrise Service on the Flower Mound Sunday, April 5, 2015 at 7:11 AM

In Flower Mound, Texas forty-three years ago, Flower Mound residents held their first Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at the summit of The Flower Mound.

The Easter Sunday Sunrise Service became a annual tradition carried on by three of Flower Mounds civic organizations; the Summit Club, the Women of Flower Mound, and the Flower Mound Foundation.

On behalf of the Summit Club, the Women of Flower Mound, and the Flower Mound Foundation, we invite you, your family and friends to The 43rd Annual Easter Sunday Sunrise Service will start about 6:50 a.m. and end about 7:15 a.m. A 25-minute service will be presented featuring a dramatic sunrise.  Please arrive by 6:25am.

Many bring lawn chairs. Parking is in the Tom Thumb parking lot West of the Mound and The Women of Flower Mound provide coffee and donuts

Wear comfortable clothing rather than your Sunday best as the service takes place on a native prairie grassland.

Each year, The Summit Club invites a local church to provide the program. This year, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is presenting the service.  The Mound is located near the intersection of Long Prairie Road (FM2499) and Flower Mound Road (FM3040) on the northeast corner. Parking is available in the Tom Thumb/Starbucks/First Choice parking lot.

The Flower Mound. The Flower Mound is a 12 acre native prairie grassland that rises fifty feet above the surrounding area which provides a 360 degree view of the North Texas landscape. Scientific studies
identified over 300 species of native flowers growing on The Flower Mound.

The property is managed by The Flower Mound Foundation on behalf of the residents of Flower Mound.

Local merchants will provide light refreshments and coffee after the services.
