Summer Camps at Sacred Ground Dance Come join the fun this summer at Sacred Ground Dance. All camps are Monday – Thursday for 3 hours. Dancing, snacks, games, activities, crafts and lots of fun at every camp. Each camper will receive a t-shirt, tutu or wings depending on the camp’s theme.

Sacred Ground Dance opened its new studio doors in June of 2012. It is a non-competitive dance studio that focuses on building a solid foundation in technique with a creative approach. They appreciate the art of dance and desire to bring their love and joy of movement to others.
Owner of Sacred Ground Dance, Jen Christensen, grew up in New Jersey, attended the Somerset County’s High School of the Performing Arts Dance Program and graduated with honors at Hofstra University in Long Island with a BA in Creative Studies with an emphasis in Dance. Being near NYC, she took various classes and workshops at D.N.A., Peridance and Broadway Dance Center and danced professionally with AP Motion Dance Company in New Jersey, as well as performed in many community theater musicals.
Jen started SGD in 2011 with just 4 tiny dancers in a 10-week session held at a home. After the end of the semester, the performance video made it’s way to facebook. She had requests for more classes almost overnight! It was then that Jen searched for a space to sublease (a home just wasn’t going to handle the 45 new students!).
In December 2011, she met Liza Doll (Yogi Kids) who was having the same problem! They combined their efforts under 1 roof and now both have a beautiful new studio that offers a wide range of dance, yoga and fitness classes for kids, adults and families!
Jen says, “We are less expensive than the other studios in our area, especially since we do not have a registration fee or recital fees. Our costume fee is also much lower than others. This is especially important to me because as a young child I had to work at my dance studio in order to pay for my classes and competition fees.”
Although it was a great learning experience, Jen feels strongly that money shouldn’t be a deciding factor on whether or not your child should have the experience of learning to dance.
SGD offers classes in ballet, pre-pointe, tap, jazz/contemporary/modern, hip hop, musical
theater and small group voice lessons. They also have a performing dance group and a children’s chorale which will perform throughout the community.
Over the summer, they are offering 13 exciting themed week-long dance camps with a mini
