Support the Fort: Buy a picket or brick for Fort Wildflower!
In case you haven’t heard the news yet, Flower Mound is getting a new playground in town…and we are going to build it!
The Heritage Park of Flower Mound consists of approximately 94-acres of land between Bakersfield and Gerault Parks. The park, when built-out, will include multi-use trails, an amphitheater, a duck pond, nature signage, benches, picnic areas, restrooms, parking spaces, a botanical garden, scenic overlooks, a service area with greenhouses and an outdoor classroom. It will also feature a disc golf course, skate park, dedicated conservation area, dog park, and open space for play.
The first phase of the master plan is a community-built playground which has been name Fort Wildflower. Designers met with Flower Mound elementary school students to get some ideas. Construction will take place in September 2012. The success of this project is dependent upon the support and volunteers from our community. There are many ways in which you can help, from construction to fundraising, and more!
*** Fence pickets and bricks are now available for purchase. Our girls are so excited about having their very own picket in the playground with their name on it!
Please “support the fort” by purchasing an engraved brick for $100 or a picket for $50 at Flower Mound’s first community built playground, Fort Wildflower. The 4″ x 8″ bricks will form part of the walkways within the playground, and the pickets will be placed around the perimeter of the park as part of the fence.
The great news is that bricks and pickets can both be personalized and are tax deductible! Don’t wait any longer to buy one for yourself, a loved one, students, teachers, friends and more. Buy your brick or picket online today, before they are gone for good!***
