The Nutcracker - A Holiday TraditionFor as long as I can remember, the Nutcracker has always been a family tradition.  It was the first chance to wear my sparkling new Christmas dress while I was transported to a magical place with sugar plum fairies, dancing toys and snow queens.  Now that I have children of my own, I get to re-live the fairytale every year as I watch their eyes light up as the house lights go down.  I love to see their excitement the first time the Nutcracker comes to life and saves Clara from the giant mice.  Exposing your children to the Nutcracker ballet will broaden their appreciation of the arts and classical music without their even knowing it…and this is a gift for a lifetime…from you.  Our side of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex offers many different performances of the Nutcracker, so we’ve rounded some of them up for you to make your search for the perfect show, that much easier.    Happy Holidays!

Bring in the Holiday season with Ben Stevenson’s critically-acclaimed production of The Nutcracker. This beloved ballet tells the story of Clara and her magical Nutcracker Prince as they embark on a thrilling adventure. Along the way, they encounter a Christmas tree that grows 40 feet, toy soldiers battling mischievous mice, waltzing flowers, dancing candy, and sparkling, swirling snowflakes that fall on dancers and audience alike.
